2009-06-13:

It's been a pretty slow summer, so I haven't felt the need to update all that much. But since I have some new music to share, I figured that I would do that.

First up, is the video from the concert where we performed my new composition, "Something Bluesy This Way Comes".

Also, the Video Game Orchestra videos from our concert in March are now online, at YouTube. I won't put all of them here, but I'll post my favorite one here; you can go to the Youtube site to see all the rest.

Hey everyone, it's about time for my monthly update. The concert with the Berklee Faculty Big Band was a great success, as was the performance of the Duke Ellington Sacred Concerts. Both events had large crowds, the latter one drawing almost 800 people, and it was a fantastic place to play, as well as a great choir to work with. I hope I get to play there again sometime soon.

In addition, last Friday, the 27th, the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra performed a concert with the legendary Benny Golson, performing several of his original big band charts featuring him on tenor sax. It was an awesome show, and I was very honored to be performing in it.

The Video Game Orchestra performance was an astounding success. We sold out the 1200-seat Berklee Performance Center, and then after the show, we got to hang out with guest conductor Jack Wall, and composer Gerard Marino. I want to thank everyone who came to the show, and hopefully we'll see you soon, as there are probably going to be more performances this summer; keep up with the website above for more details.

Coming up in April is my debut performance with the Jazz Composer's Alliance, as well as performances in recitals by Midori Matsuo, and Hitomi Taguchi. In addition, the Rainbow Band and Concert Jazz Orchestra performances are coming up, on the 21st and 28th of the month respectively, and each group will be performing my new original piece, "Something Bluesy This Way Comes". I'm very excited.

That is all for now, and hopefully there will be more updates coming soon!

It has been a ridiculously long time since I updated this website. But I finally got around to it, and lo and behold, I have added some new stuff. I gave up on a photo gallery; I rarely take pictures myself, and the gigs that I've been doing aren't really all that good for photo-taking, so there would only be three or four pictures in there to begin with, and that's not nearly enough to warrant its own section on my site. So I added a part of the website about my engraving, hopefully attracting some of you to that aspect of my versatility as a musician. I hope you who come here in need of parts or scores made find it and give me some work!

I have also completed the media section for now, placing a flash application that plays recordings of all of the music that I have had publicly performed. I will hopefully be adding to that soon; I just finished a chart called "Something Bluesy This Way Comes", and it is going to be performed in April by both the Berklee Rainbow Band, and the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra. I am very excited for that.

This week, I will be performing with the Berklee Faculty Big Band in their annual "Write of Spring" Jazz Composition faculty concert. I am playing lead trumpet for them again, thanks to the gracious invitation of Ken Pullig, Chair of the Jazz Comp department, and Jackson Schultz, the leader of the band. Also, coming up on March 5th is the first Berklee Performance Center show of the Video Game Orchestra, led by my good friend Shota Nakama. This group is fantastic, and we perform music exclusively from video games. The concert this time around will be attended by such video game composers as Gerard Marino (God of War), Keith Zizza (Caesar), and Duncan Watt (Brothers in Arms).

Finally, coming up on March 8th, is going to be the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra playing the sacred music of Duke Ellington, at Trinity Church in Boston. This concert is going to sell out quickly, so get your tickets soon! More information about this show can be found here.

I know that's a lot, but I've been negligent of this site, and I am going to try to not be so negligent in the future. Thanks for visiting my site!
